Canton is on the brink of a momentous milestone – our Bicentennial Celebration! To honor this significant occasion, we have planned a series of events and activities from June 20-29, 2025 that will not only showcase our rich heritage but also bring our community together in a spirit of unity and celebration.

To honor Canton’s Bicentennial Celebration, we have created ways for everyone to be involved by helping with fundraising for the celebration week or being a part of the week by submitting your own event that will help us celebrate our heritage . Please do not hesitate to contact our committee at 309-647-2677 or by email at cantonilbicentennial2025@gmail.com.

Canton Bicentennial Auction Fundraiser

The Canton Bicentennial committee has teamed up with Curtis Gorsuch at Gorsuch Realty & Auction to create the Canton Bicentennial 2025 Auction fundraiser to help cover costs of the Bicentennial celebration to be held in June of 2025 and at the same time, pay tribute to Canton history.

Click HERE to get more details on the auction site.

We are seeking rare and unique items from folks who live or were raised in Canton.  If you have items of historic, cultural, or sentimental value — such as Canton or surrounding area memorabilia, sports memorabilia, vintage toys, comics, rare books, art, knives, old tools, coins, old currency, antique collectibles, or other valuable pieces — this is the perfect opportunity donate your collectable items so fellow enthusiasts can enjoy them.

The Bicentennial Committee will be collecting items between now and November 8 with the auction taking place on-line through Gorsuch Auction site from November 15 – December 15, 2024. Items may be given to any committee member (Mike Walters, Carol Davis, Carla Bobell, Kevin Stephenson, Stacy Wise, or Rick Klinedinst) or dropped off at the Chamber Office or MidAmerica National Bank prior to November 8.

Please note: We are not accepting typical yard sale items like glass or plasticware, used clothes or toys, exercise equipment etc. Only curated and valuable collectibles will be considered. Please contact any committee member for questions or the Chamber Office at 309-647-2677.
